Rockman was programmed by the renowned scientist, Dr. Hikari, and was given to his son Netto as a gift for entering in the fifth grade. Rockman may seem tinny and weak, but he's actually one of the most powerful and brave Net-Navis around!
Rockman's standard weaponry stands on his RockBuster, an arm cannon that fires purple laser shots, which he can also charge for a more powerful blast. Later in the series, Rockman also obtains an unique ability called Style Change, which allows him to temporarily alter his elemental status and weaponry style in certain occasions.
The styles include HeatGuts, ElecTeam, WoodShield, AquaCustom, and the glitchy BugStyle.
Rockman is constantly getting after Netto for being late or by not doing his homework. Netto and Rockman have been together for some time, and there's a really tight friendship that can't be broken between them and the proof of this was shown when Rockman was deleted by PharoahMan. He was able to send his data to Netto and his friends PET's (PErsonal Terminal) and using the data, with the help of his friends and his dad, Netto was able to bring Rockman back to life.
Rockman is Netto's older brother, reborn into a Net-Navi. Rockman's human name was Saito, he died somewhere around the age of 4-6 due to a disease incurable at the time. Yuiichiro gathered some DNA from Saito and was able to ressurect him in the form of a Net-Navi, who would soon be known as Rockman.EXE.
